If you have been reading the AI Tools articles on this site, you might have noticed something new appearing alongside the posts. A little character has started showing up. Her name is Pip, and she is the official mascot for all the AI content here.
Why A Mascot?
The AI Tools section has grown fast. What started as a single OpenCode Go review turned into a full series on Hermes Agent, with articles on skills, cron jobs, memory, and more. The section needed its own identity. Something that made it instantly recognizable when scrolling the homepage or browsing categories.
A mascot gives the content a consistent face. Pip appears alongside AI articles to make them stand out from the rest of the site. She is the visual cue that says “this one is about AI tools.” Over time, she becomes shorthand for the kind of content you can expect from the AI Tools category.
The AI Image Process
Pip was created using AI image generation. I worked through several rounds of prompts to get her right. The process went something like this: start with a general description of the character style, refine the colors and composition, adjust the background and lighting, and repeat until it clicks.
The prompt focused on a friendly, approachable character with a tech theme that matches the purple color palette I use across the AI Tools section. The result captures the feel I was going for. A character that looks comfortable in a tech space without feeling cold or robotic.
Being Open About AI Art
I think transparency matters here. The mascot was generated with AI. I did not draw it by hand. I wrote the prompts, made the choices, and guided the output until it matched what I had in mind. But the image itself came from a model, not a sketchpad.
This site covers AI tools and what they can do. It would be strange to write about AI every week and pretend the mascot appeared any other way. Pip is also a small example of what these tools can produce when you put some thought into the prompt and iterate until you get something you like.
What Pip Represents
Pip is not just decoration. She represents the approach I try to take with the AI content here. Accessible. Friendly. Not trying to be smarter than you. Useful without being pretentious.
