Uses
Everything here is stuff I actually use. No sponsored picks, no affiliate fluff. If it is on this list, it earns its place on my desk or in my workflow.
The Desk Setup
Mac Mini (M4) – My daily driver. Handles everything: this site, my reviews, AI art, and all the Hermes automations running in the background.
Turtle Beach Vulcan II Max – My daily keyboard. Mechanical, responsive, and it has held up to a lot of typing.
Logitech G502 X Plus Lightspeed – The mouse that stays on my desk. Lightweight, accurate, and the wireless is a “set it and forget it” thing.
Alienware 34-inch AW3423DW curved OLED – Main monitor. The OLED contrast makes everything look better, and the curve wraps around my field of view.
Two Viotek GNV27DB 27-inch curved monitors – Left and right flank. I run the site editor on one and chat, terminals, and reference material on the other.
A KVM switch ties the personal and work setups together, plus various other peripherals that earn their spot when needed.
The Work Laptop Setup
2025 MacBook Air (M4, 16GB, 256GB, Midnight) – My work machine. The specs are here. It is the laptop I carry and dock when I am traveling for Skylight Calendar.
Two Viotek GNV27DB 27-inch curved monitors – The work side gets the same treatment. Consistency matters when you live on a screen all day.
Elgato Facecam – For video calls that do not look like a potato. Logitech MX Master 4 is the work mouse, and the Apple keyboard with Touch ID handles the fingerprint unlock. A laptop stand keeps the Air at eye level.
Everyday Software
Hermes Agent – The AI assistant that runs my automations, schedules, and half my workflow. It writes my weekly reports, manages this site, and reminds me when the Spare Drive unmounts. Closest thing I have to a work partner.
Twitter and Mastodon – Where I talk about what I am building and testing. CleanShot handles screenshots and has saved me more time than any utility on the Mac.
AI Tools
Hermes Agent – See above. It is both my everyday tool and my AI tool, it is that central.
ChatGPT 5.5 – What I use to make the AI art on this site. Every piece in the gallery started as a prompt here. FAL.ai handles image generation and image to video, with Kling v3 for the animated stuff. OpenCode is my coding agent when I need code written and checked properly.
This Website
WordPress with the Groovy theme. Rank Math for SEO, WPCode for custom snippets, and EWWW for image optimization. I manage all of it from chat with Hermes, which is honestly the best part.
Work Tools
Sprout Social manages the social media accounts I look after. WhenIWork handles scheduling for the team. ADA is the AI chat assistant I coach, and teaching it how to handle chats, tickets, and calls is a big part of my week.
