The Redragon Antonium K745 Pro represents a significant step up for the budget peripheral manufacturer, moving away from the “pingy” metal plates of their older models and into the modern era of gasket-mounted, sound-dampened enthusiast boards. The Purple edition, in particular, offers a striking aesthetic that breaks away from the standard black or white gamer peripherals.
Build Quality And Aesthetics
The immediate standout feature of this unit is the colorway. The “Purple” model is actually a tasteful two-tone blend of white and lilac/purple PBT keycaps sitting on a white chassis. It avoids the aggressive “gamer” look, leaning instead into a softer, “cozy desk” aesthetic often found in much more expensive custom builds.

Construction: The case is plastic, which keeps the weight manageable (around 2.3 lbs / 1 kg), but it feels surprisingly dense. There is very little deck flex thanks to the internal structure.
Gasket Mount & Dampening: This is where the K745 Pro punches above its weight. It utilizes a gasket-mounted design combined with a comprehensive 5-layer sound dampening stack (including PO foam, IXPE switch foam, and a silicone bottom pad). This eliminates the hollow echo often found in sub-$70 keyboards.
Keycaps: The keycaps are made of durable PBT with a rounded profile (similar to XDA or MOA profiles) rather than the standard OEM shape. They have a slightly textured, sandy finish that resists finger oils well. The legends are large and legible, though they are non-shine-through, meaning the RGB lighting creates a glow around the keys rather than through the letters.
Performance And Typing Experience
Out of the box, I would describe the typing experience as “creamy” or “thocky; which are common buzzwords in the keyboard community that essentially mean a deep, satisfying sound without high-pitched clicking or metallic resonance. It’s actually an experience and sound that I’m really starting to enjoy and appreciate and don’t want to move away from.
Switches: The board comes pre-installed with Redragon’s custom Mint Mambo linear switches. These are factory-lubed and have a light actuation force of roughly 40g. They are smooth and quiet, making them excellent for office environments where clicky Blue switches would be obnoxious.
Hot-Swappability: The PCB features full hot-swap sockets compatible with 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches. This is a massive pro for longevity; if a switch dies or you simply want to try a tactile feel later, you can pull them out without soldering.

Battery Life
The Redragon Antonium K745 Pro is equipped with a generous 4000mAh Lithium Polymer battery that offers varying performance depending on lighting usage. When the RGB lighting is active at full brightness, the keyboard provides approximately 30 to 40 hours of continuous use, which is roughly equivalent to a standard work week.
However, turning the backlighting off drastically extends the battery life to over 150 hours, allowing for several weeks of usage on a single charge. The unit recharges via a USB-C port located on the center back edge, but it lacks a dedicated physical battery indicator, forcing users to rely on key combinations or software settings to check the remaining power level.
Software
Like with most every other Redragon keyboard, the Antonium K745 Pro comes with software that you can use. However, it’s not really needed in this case as most of the lighting options can be changed directly via the keyboard itself with the FN(function) key.
This is important to note since the software is only available for Windows and not for Mac. And since this keyboard can easily be used with a Mac, you can still change lighting options without issues.
If you do wish to download the software, you can do so here: Antonium K745 Pro Software.
Pros And Cons
Pros
Exceptional Sound Profile: The gasket mount and 5-layer foam dampening provide a premium "thocky" sound straight out of the box, rivaling keyboards twice the price.
Versatile Connectivity: Seamless switching between 2.4GHz, Bluetooth, and Wired modes makes it a great productivity tool for multi-device setups.
High-Quality Stock Switches: The pre-lubed Mint Mambo linear switches are smooth and stable, requiring no immediate modding for a good experience.
Cons
Software Limitations: The proprietary software is clunky, Windows-exclusive, and lacks the advanced layering features found in open-source alternatives like VIA/QMK.
Non-Shine-Through Keycaps: While the purple/white aesthetic is beautiful, the legends do not light up, making it difficult to read keys in a completely dark room.
Battery Indicator: The lack of a dedicated, easy-to-read battery level indicator on the chassis can lead to surprise disconnects if you aren't diligent about checking via shortcuts.

Final Thoughts
The Redragon Antonium K745 Pro Purple Edition is a compelling option for those seeking a unique, feature-rich, and affordable mechanical keyboard. Its distinctive design, solid build quality, versatile connectivity, and comfortable typing experience make it a great choice for both gamers and typists. While it has some minor drawbacks, its strengths far outweigh its weaknesses. To top it all off, this keyboard is currently priced at only $64.99 which is a really good price point in my opinion.
