Here we already, another week complete. They just seem to be going by so damn quickly. It’s crazy to think that Thanksgiving is just over 3 weeks from now and that Christmas is just over 6 weeks away which means the new year is just about 7 weeks or so from being here.

Time Change

I’m just going to say how dumb it is that this is still a thing in 2025. We don’t need to change time, ever, for anything. Let’s just keep it the same and keep doing what we do. I really wish we would finally abolish this, or at least have every state do their own thing and stop doing Daylight Savings Time and all that junk.

General Life

In last week’s Cliff’s Notes I had mentioned that the wife and I were heading to Dave’s Hot Chicken in Greensboro, NC(about 25 minutes away) for the first time ever to have lunch. We did end up going as planned, and let me tell you, I was very impressed.

A top-down shot displays a fast-food meal arranged on a light-colored wood-grain surface. The meal consists of a container of fried chicken tenders, a small cup of dipping sauce, two pickle slices, and a black container filled with french fries. The chicken tenders are arranged on small, square paper wrappers with the text “DAVES HOT CHICKEN” and “MEDIUM” printed on them. The dipping sauce is a light orange color in a clear plastic cup. The black container of french fries is full, with visible seasoning on top.

I ended up ordering the two chicken strips meal and top loaded fries and their mac and cheese. Let’s start with their mac and cheese. It was very creamy and had a good taste to it. You could definitely taste a bit of the pepper they add to it, which I really like in a mac and cheese.

The top loaded fries were decently good, but hard to eat with their cheap plastic utensils they give you. The fries had crinkle cut fries, cheese sauce, pickles, kale slaw and cut up pieces of chicken tenders. Overall it was good, but I think going forward I’d likely just order their cheese fries.

Now, on to the chicken tenders. I ordered medium just to be safe, though the wife ordered her food(pictured below) as hot. I wish I would have gone hot, but I know for next time. The flavor on these was absolutely amazing. Covered in spice and then deep fried providing a great outer layer. The inside was super moist and super tender. I absolutely loved these things and would definitely order them again.

The wife ordered the two sliders meal with cheese fries. As you can see, these are full-size sandwiches and the one of hers had an absolutely humongous piece of chicken. Absolutely crazy how much food they give you at Dave’s Hot Chicken.

Again, this place was really good and I would absolutely go back again. I’m really hoping they decide to open one up here in Winston Salem, NC because then we’d for sure go more often. Not that the trip to Greensboro is very long, as it’s really not.

Above you’ll see three random photos I took while there as well. The one is of the big wall inside the restaurant which was really nicely done. The other two are just of drinks we had, sweet tea and the other was mountain berry frozen Powerade with some strawberry bubblers on top. It was just ok at best. Nothing special. I had to settle for this as their shake machine was broken(McDonald’s?). I was really hoping to get the top loaded Fruity Pebbles shake.

Video Games – Outer Worlds 2

This week has been all about Outer Worlds 2 as that’s all I’ve played. I’m about 25 hours into it maybe and absolutely enjoying it. In fact, I’m enjoying it more than the first one, though the first one was so damn good that it’s hard to believe this one is better.

The story, the game play, the graphics, the depth of the game and just the changes that have been made between the first one and this one. This game is very addicting, to me at least, and just so much fun to be playing. I’m going to be super sad whenever I finish it, which hopefully won’t be for a bit longer.

Work Stuff

Not much new to update here in the world of work. We’ve been a bit slow ticket wise, but it’s given me a chance to really learn a lot of things to gear up for our busiest time of the year which will be from Black Friday/Cyber Monday through the end of the year.

The team of folks I work with are absolutely amazing and I’m so honored and privileged to work with them. We do a lot of virtual co-work meetings via Google Meet and to be honest, I never though I’d enjoy such thing. Several of us that are working for the day jump in a Google Meet and work together while talking and hanging out. It’s been a great way for me to really learn the things I need to learn while also learning about my fellow team members and just having fun chit chatting while doing it all. I actually look forward to these each and every day.

I’ll also be receiving my 27-inch Calendar Max this coming week. I had mentioned in a general conversation that I’d be super thrilled to finally get my hands on one at some point in the future to which my supervisor immediately replied and said, get the shipping department to send you one right away as you’ll need it for testing and you deserve one! Needless to say I was shocked but very thrilled. I can’t wait to get it on Tuesday and really see what it’s all about. The biggest chore will be where to hang it on the wall, and hope I have no issues hanging it on the wall.

The Final Thoughts

That’s it for this week. Not too exciting to be honest, but hey, that’s how my life is mostly, which I enjoy. Next week I’ll be detailing another new restaurant that the wife and I went to yesterday. An all you can eat sushi bar.

Until then, let me know in the comments what your week was like, what cool things you did and anything else that you might feel was interesting. I’d love to hear from all of you!
