These are the sites, blogs, and communities I actually read and hang out in. Everything here is something I use regularly. If I stop using it, it leaves the list.
Blogs I Read
- Simon Willison – The most consistent daily coverage of what is actually happening in AI. No hype, just real notes on real tools.
- Lilian Weng – Deep technical explainers on how AI systems actually work. The best place to understand the machinery under the surface.
- Karpathy – Direct, practical takes on AI from someone who builds it. Short posts, zero fluff.
- Import AI – A weekly AI newsletter that covers the big picture without drowning you in hype.
- Latent Space – Interviews and deep dives with the people building AI products. Good for seeing how things actually ship.
- The Verge – General tech news and reviews that keep me in the loop on the wider industry.
- Ars Technica – The tech site that still does real reporting. Reviews and deep dives with actual substance.
- Stratechery – Ben Thompson’s analysis of the tech industry. The clearest long form thinking about why companies win and lose.
- Tony Reviews Things – Brutally honest tech reviews and deals. The kind of reviews that tell you what they actually think instead of what a sponsor wants to hear.
- AppAddict – iOS and Apple app news, reviews, and sales. A good place to keep up with what is coming to your phone.
- BirchTree – Tech, Apple, and the vast grey area that is AI. Honest takes from someone who thinks about how tech fits into daily life.
Communities I’m In
- Hermes Community – The Discord server I created for people building with Hermes Agent. Skills, plugins, ideas, and help from people actually using it.
- ModMyDevice – A community for people who like to get more out of their devices. Mods, tweaks, and setups.
- NousResearch Discord – The official Discord for Nous Research, the team behind Hermes Agent. The best place to talk with people building and using Hermes.
