It’s been almost a month since I did a weekly update, and for that I apologize. Things have been crazy to say the least so let’s just dive in and get right to it. Though this will likely be a considerably shorter Cliff’s Notes than usual.

Work Related Stuff

Things have been extremely crazy, insane and super busy at Skylight these past 2 weeks or so. We went from doing about 1,200 tickets per day to doing over 20,000 tickets per day, or some crazy something or another like that. But we knew it was coming, so it didn’t catch us off-guard at all in any way.

It’s been fun for me, since this is my first busy season with the company since I’ve only been there a couple of months, well, almost three months now. But it’s also been extremely tiring as I’ve been going in 2 – 3 hours early, staying 2 – 3 hours late and just really putting in the time each day to help get things done.

We probably still have another couple of weeks or so of this, so we’ll see how that goes. We were also told the other day that our All-Feet(company wide meet up) will be in San Diego and that will of course happen February 23rd – 26th. It’s going to be super exciting for sure as I get to meet everyone in the company but especially on my specific team. We’ll all get together, do some work, build processes to better this time of year next year and various other things. It’s going to be super fun.

Personal/Home Stuff

I’ve not had as much time for personal/home stuff due to the things I mentioned above with regards to work. The wife has been working quite a bit as well due to the fact that they are just as busy as we are, but that’s Amazon for you.

I’ve been playing a lot less video games the last couple of weeks, mainly because I’ve been staring at the monitors much more due to the longer hours at work, so felt it was best to take a break from that to allow me more time to work.

I have been playing some PGA Tour 2K25 though and it’s been pretty fun. Not as great as the Tiger Woods golf games from back in the day, but still relaxing and enjoyable. Not sure what my next game will be that I really sink myself into. I might go back to Hollow Knight: Silksong at this point and really hope to get that game completed. Though I know it’s going to be a tough one.

NFL: Houston Texans

I normally don’t write about sports, as I just don’t watch sports like I once used to do a lot of years ago, but I do of course keep up with my Houston Texans in the NFL. Yesterday was the final game of the season and we won again, marking a 9 game win-streak which is the current longest in the NFL. We of course made the playoffs and we’ll be playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh in the first round. Hopefully our streak continues and we can move on. Playing on the road is tough but you have to do what you have to do. I have faith in my team of course.

Funny thing here is, a big portion of my team at work all live in the Pittsburgh area, so it should be quite interesting to see how that goes for me. I’m definitely the odd one out this week at work.

Final Thoughts

That’s about it for this episode of Cliff’s Notes and hopefully I can keep doing these each week or close to each week to keep y’all informed of how life is for me personally.

I’m hoping to get back into gaming a bit more, but if we keep staying busy like we are, then that might not happen quite yet.

If there’s anything you want to know about or have questions about, leave them in the comments and I will certainly try my best to answer or speak about anything y’all mention!
