Been a couple of weeks since I did my previous Cliff’s Notes, so I figured I’d try and get one out this week. Couple of things to talk about, mostly work wise, so that will be the bulk of this episode.

Work Related Stuff

As I mentioned in Episode Three two weeks ago, I was aware of a promotion I was going to be getting, but because it wasn’t fully finalized I couldn’t and didn’t want to fully speak about it. Last week, Thursday to be exact, everything was finalized and I can happily mention that I have been promoted to a Concierge Team Lead. This also came with a really nice raise, so I’m super excited.

Crazy to think that I found out about this a few days prior to my 3-month anniversary at Skylight, and then it was all finalized 2 days before my 4-month anniversary. Super excited and anxious for this promotion and to help lead my current team and the new members we’ll be getting soon. I’ll also be doing a lot of work on our AI bot that we call Ada. She handles emails and chats and she needs some work to make her the best she can be, but that’s part of where I come in, along with a couple of others.

The second exciting piece of work news is that next Monday, February 23rd, I’ll be flying out of town and heading to San Diego, California for my first All-Feet at Skylight. All-Feet is just a company wide together as we do these every 3 – 4 months apart, and this will be my first one to attend. It’s going to be super exciting to finally meet everyone on my team and everyone at the company. Monday can’t come soon enough!

I’ll also finally get to meet my former boss/employer, Kevin Barry, the founder/creator of Nova Launcher, whom I worked for and with for a total of almost 9 years. We of course now work together at Skylight and have since I started there.

To wrap up the exciting week, on that Thursday, the 26th, my wife will be flying in and we’ll be staying until the following Monday, March 2nd. Great timing since that Sunday, March 1st, is our wedding anniversary. The timing of all of this couldn’t be better.

Personal Stuff

To be honest, not much in the realm of personal stuff going on other than what I mentioned above with regards to mine and my wife’s wedding anniversary coming up on March 1st. It’ll be super nice to be out of town and on vacation to celebrate that.

Other than that, I don’t know of anything exciting to put into this section as the weather has kept us inside a big part of the time due to that super cold winter storm most all of us had here in the US.

Video Games

I’ve not got much for this section either. While I did start Nioh 3, I’ve not spent a lot of time playing it, not anything else for that matter. I guess the work stuff has really had me excited and focused. I don’t think I’ll play much this week as I get ready to go back to work tomorrow for four days then away for a total of 9 days. If I do, it won’t be but a couple of hours or so at the very most.

Final Thoughts

I know this is a pretty short Cliff’s Notes this time around, but it I’m sure the next one will be a bit beefier as I will have all the fun things we did and experienced while in San Diego next week. Hopefully after that I’ll be able to dive into some video games a bit more as well.
