Well hello there! It’s been quite a while since I did one of these posts, or any posts on the website for that matter. Why you ask? Life has just been crazy and pretty busy in various ways. Plus I’ll also admit I’ve just not really had motivation to want to post things. You know, writers block and such!

But let’s dive in and get started. This likely won’t be a very long Cliff’s Notes this time around, but we’ll make it whatever it ends up being.

Work Stuff

We’re going to start with work stuff for this episode. Not because it’s super exciting or anything similar, but just what came to mind first.

Work has been pretty slow which is nice as we do have a busy time of year coming up around Mother’s Day. This will be my first Mother’s Day experience so it’ll be interesting to see how busy it is compared to our Q4, or the holidays around Black Friday/Cyber Monday and Christmas.

We did just hire 9 – 10 new part-time Concierge Support Team employees, so that will certainly help for when it does get busy. They seem to be eager to dive in during the training sessions I had with them. Definitely seems like a positive.

Family Stuff

February 23rd – March 2nd, I was in San Diego, CA. The first 4 days of that was for our work All-Feet get together which is where the entire company meets up and has meetings and various other things. Was a ton of fun to finally meet my team in person along with a bunch of others. I even get to meet my former boss from Nova Launcher, Kevin Barry, after working for him for 9 years and now us working together for almost 6 months here at Skylight.

The last half of that was vacation with the wife which was super fun. We got to do various things and experience a really great dinner at the Marine Room for our 13th wedding anniversary which was March 1st.

We flew back home on Monday, then 5 days later we got word that her grandfather had passed away. So she and her sister drove to Harlingen, TX to be there for the funeral and all of that stuff. While there, the night before the funeral, the family was playing a card game called Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, and she ended up fracturing the tip of her left middle finger in two places. That was late Wednesday night and she didn’t find out for sure until Sunday morning when she came back home.

Video Game Stuff

I’ve not really been playing too much lately. Mainly because of being busier than normal, but also just not having the energy. I did start a new game, Fallen Tear: The Ascension, which reminds a lot of Ori: And The Will Of The Wisps. Super fun game though I’ve not gotten very far into it as of yet. I’m hoping to really get back to playing later this week.

I also bought and finally started Marathon. Again, I’ve not put too much time in it. It’s certainly different than what I normally play, but wanted to check it out since I have played Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 for 10+ years now. Not that it’s anything like Destiny, but that it’s made by Bungie. It’s tough and certainly different. Not sure yet if I’ll stick with it or not.

Final Thoughts

I guess that’s really about it for now. Like I said, a short version of Cliff’s Notes this time around and for that I do apologize. Maybe the next one will be a bit longer. Maybe I’ll get some more game time in and be able to write a bit more about some video games and I think I’ll have a product review coming up soon as well. So stay tuned for those.
