f a customer is asking for Wildcard dns, we provide a script to easily do this. Simply get the script here:
wget http://hostgator.com/~davec/createwildcard
And then run the following command:
bash createwildcard DOMAINNAME
This script will mod the DNS zone, as well as the Apache configuration. If the script fails to run, and says wildcard dns already exists, then verify this by going to
/var/named/DOMAINNAME.db
and check the domain entry in the apache configuration as well.
